Job Description

Summary:  Fulfills Readerlink’s Collections and Analysis functions.    

 

Essential Functions:  The Accounts Receivable Analyst is responsible for the collections, reconciliation and related AR functions for assigned accounts. This position is responsible for providing analysis, reporting and monitoring of open Accounts Receivable.

  • Daily review and analysis of account status to provide appropriate follow-up with regards to overdue payments. Determine correct course of action necessary to collect past due balance
  • Manage all aspects of the AR Process for assigned accounts including validating EDI, review of posted transactions and working with vendor websites
  • Prepare and organize documentation to collect payment
  • Collection calls, letters and follow up on deductions and past due balances
  • Facilitate and review reconciliations with customers
  • Review and prepare settlements with customers
  • Handle customers escalations as needed
  • Review pricing, co-op and misc. deductions, ensuring compliance with company guidelines while maintaining sound business judgment
  • Prepare weekly/monthly reports for management
  • Interact with IT, Sales, and Warehouse departments addressing issues
  • Complete any special AR/Collections projects necessary

 

Non-Essential Functions:

  • Provide support to the Accounts Receivable Supervisors, Managers and Director of AR as needed

Job Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor of Science in accounting is preferred.
  • Experience: 5 to 10 years total work experience, 7+ years in Accounts Receivable functions with an emphasis on collections and account management.

 

Computer Skills:

  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Knowledge of Excel at an intermediate or higher level
  • Knowledge of AS400

 

Language Skills:

  • Must have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to speak with all levels of the organization
  • Ability to write and compile comprehensive reports and correspondence

 

Mathematical Skills:

  • Must be proficient in mathematics and able to do basic statistical analysis
  • Ability  to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, rations and proportions to practical situations

 

Reasoning Ability:

  • Ability to define problems, collects data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. 
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of instructions in written or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

 

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to sit up to 8 hours in a day.
  • Must be able to walk intermittently throughout the day.
  • Will occasionally have to bend, stoop, kneel and squat.
  • Will frequently have to reach out.
  • Will occasionally have to lift and/or carry up to 10 pounds.
  • Will frequently have repetitive hand/arm movement, firm grasping.
  • Will occasionally have repetitive hand/arm movement for find hand manipulation.
  • Specific vision ability required by this job includes close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
  • The employee is regularly required to sit, use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, and reach with hands and arms.
  • Employee must be able to walk, talk and hear.
