Job Description

Summary:           Fulfills Readerlink’s Collections management function.    


Essential Functions: The Deductions Manager is responsible for leading the daily work of the team by maintaining service level Target. This manager will be accountable for taking an end to end process approach, collaborating with cross functional departments and customers at various levels to solve complex problems and collection issues. A strong customer mindset is required for success. The role will require strong analytical skills and the ability to design and implement new policies and practices to support the business and new technologies.


  • Manage deduction resolution functions, maintain an acceptable DDO
  • Manage a team of Deduction Resolution Specialists and provide on-going feedback for customer AR Review
  • Drive Recommendations and solutions to resolve deduction related issues
  • Drive/own process improvement solutions around efficiencies and workload
  • Develop strong relationships with all stakeholders in regards to outstanding deductions
  • Become the expert on applications specific to Deduction Resolution
  • Providing leadership, establishing performance metrics and administration of deductions (Return Claims, Pricing, Co-op and Fines)
  • Establish team and individual performance objectives
  • Prepare and deliver performance appraisals for team members
  • Assist team and customers in the final resolution of escalated customer deduction/collection issues
  • Identity process improvement opportunities and lead related change implementation
  • Create update claims training manual and standard operating procedures
  • Travel to perform claims audits at 3 Return Centers and facilitate claim training.

Non-Essential Functions: 

  • Provide support to the Sr. Accounts Receivable Manager

Job Requirements


 Education: Bachelor of Science in accounting or comparable degree

  • Experience: 7+ years in Accounts Receivable functions, with 5+ years of supervisory experience

Computer Skills:

  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Proficient in Excel for analyzing large data items
  • Knowledge of AS400 is preferred

Language Skills:

  • Must have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to speak with all levels of the organization
  • Ability to write and compile comprehensive reports and correspondence 

Mathematical Skills:

  • Must be proficient in mathematics and able to do basic statistical analysis
  • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, rations and proportions to practical situations  

Reasoning Ability:

  • Ability to define problems, collects data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of instructions in written or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.  

Physical Requirements

  • Will occasionally have to bend, stoop, kneel and squat.
  • Will occasionally have to lift and/or carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Will frequently have repetitive hand/arm movement, firm grasping.
