Job Description

Summary: The main purpose of the position is to develop, create and execute super-realistic three-dimensional models of books, toys and packaging to be utilized by the sales team as selling tools to obtain future orders for our products.

Aside from producing three-dimensional prototypes, the position also assists the art directors and designers in the early stages of their books and toys.

 

Essential Functions: 

 

  • Build 3D models of our books, toys and packaging to be distributed to our domestic and international Sales Teams.
  • Assist in the conceptualizing and in the development of new package design
  •  Calculate measurements and draw templates of our products to be followed by our printers in Hong Kong.
  • Organize lists of requests from the Sales Teams by prioritizing them by urgency and importance.
  • Hire and Manage Peak Employees (freelancers) to assist in the creation of the models, organize their work schedules and guide/assist them.
  • Organize all raw materials needed to build the models and delegate projects to the appropriate Peak Employee based on his or her individual strengths and talents.
  • Support Art Director in off-peak times as book designer.
  • Participate in format development with senior staff with a key sense of creating formats with long term applications.
  • Knowledge of design software to aid in writing specs, fitting creative material to 3-D book samples and basic book design.
  • Write specs or review specs of staff for assigned formats, providing Production with complete, detailed information as needed.
  • Establish schedules and budgets for sales materials
  • Hire freelancers to complete work as needed
  • Problem solve any issues regarding work as it occurs or anticipate and correct

  • Must identify and resolve problems in a timely manner, gathers and analyzes information skillfully and maintains confidentiality.

 

Job Requirements

Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor Degree
  • Minimum 5-8 years’ experience in publishing or associated creative field
  • Working knowledge of all Adobe and other creative software as well as knowledge of preparing print files.
