Job Description

Summary:

The Audit Manager is responsible for the objective auditing of a specified area of stores.

Essential Functions:

To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following competencies to perform the essential functions of this position:

• Responsible for meeting scheduled weekly store audit goal requirements, utilizing all tools available to complete accurate, objective audits.
• Take scheduling direction from National Audit Manager to investigate store “outliers” and report findings.
• Build partnerships with store management by meeting regularly during each audit visit, to discuss sales opportunities and determine if Merchandisers are meeting their service expectations, and ours.
• Evaluate stores and complete objective audits on a timely basis.
• Follow-up on store issues to ensure vendor addresses per our standard operation procedures, and issues are not repeated.
• Friendly and open communication with Vendor Managers and Merchandisers during store visits to help them achieve overall merchandising excellence and maximize sales. Take advantage of teaching moments.
• Promote a team environment.
• Responsible for advance preparation before weekly calls with National Audit Manager, and weekly recaps completed on a timely basis.
• Some data mining and analyzing of reports to identify store service opportunities and pinpoint areas of concern.
• Submit weekly expenses at the end of each week.

Non-Essential Functions:

• Other duties may be assigned, directed or requested.

Job Requirements

Qualifications:

• Some college preferred
• 1-3 years of Field Merchandising experience
• Self-starter with ability to prioritize multiple tasks and work independently in a fast-paced environment
• Outstanding communication, organizational and interpersonal skills
• Skills to accurately report information by due dates/deadlines
• Knowledge of computer software including Excel and Word required
• Ability to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift up to 75 pounds
• Willingness to travel to stores daily, including occasional overnight travel
• Must demonstrate proficiency with Excel using data sorting and filtering

Physical Requirements:

• Work could be performed while sitting, standing or walking
• Work performed will entail fine manipulation of hands and/or fingers, as well as repetitive hand action. It will occasionally entail bending, twisting, squatting and climbing, as well as upper and lower body mobility

Language Skills:

• Interpersonal skills – the individual maintains confidentiality, remains open to others’ ideas and exhibits willingness to try new things
• Oral Communication – the individual speaks clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations
• Written Communication – the individual edits work for spelling and grammar, presents numerical data effectively and is able to read and interpret written information

Mathematical Skills:

• Basic math skills

Reasoning Ability:

• Problem solving – the individual identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner, gathers and analyzes information skillfully and maintains confidentiality

Work Environment:

• Work is performed in the field at retail stores and occasionally at a home office
• Must be able to work in a fast paced, mobile, high pressure environment
